- An unidentified woman from Bateau Bay, Australia, just won $1.3 million from a lottery ticket she bought after stopping to get a birthday card for a friend.
- She told lottery officials that she checked her ticket after seeing on Facebook that someone local had purchased a winning ticket.
- "It feels like this win was almost meant to be. I was just out at the shops getting a card for my friend's birthday when I bought this ticket. If I wasn't buying the card, I wouldn't have purchased the Saturday lotto ticket. It's crazy!"
- "My husband will retire and I'd love to treat myself a bit. It's come at the perfect time. This win means we can completely rewrite our retirement plans, which is amazing."
