Idaho man runs half marathon while wearing 111 T-shirts

  • An Idaho man just broke a Guinness World Record after running a half marathon while wearing 111 T-shirts.
  • David Rush, who has already broken more than 200 Guinness World Records to promote STEM education, said it took about 25 minutes for his team to help him put on the 111 shirts before Saturday's YMCA Famous Idaho Potato Marathon.
  • Rush said cool temperatures helped him, but he still struggles with the 40 pounds of added weight from the shirts. "My arms lost circulation and after a couple of hours my hands swelled to what felt like twice the size, my normally loose wedding ring was a constricted ring, and I couldn't even touch my thumb across my hand," Rush said.
  • Rush finished the half marathon with a time of 2 hours, 47 minutes, and 55 seconds, beating the 3-hour time limit set by Guinness World Records.
