Johns Hopkins Students Invent 'Edible Tape' To Hold Burritos Together

  • A team of Johns Hopkins University students have unveiled their newest creation: edible tape designed to hold burritos together.
  • The so-called 'Tastee Tape' was submitted for the school's Engineering Design Day.
  • The tape is moisture-activated and stays in place while cooking. While the students won't reveal their secret formula, they say it's made from "common food and dietary additives" and is safe to eat.
  • One team member said Tastee Tape "allows you to put full faith in your tortilla, and enjoy your meal, mess-free".
  • What's next for Tastee Tape? After the competition, the students plan to apply for a patent.
