- In May, a tweet saying the meal was going up from $1.50 to $2.50 caught the eyes of customers.
- The GOP House Of Representatives' Twitter account retweeted the info blaming the price hike on President Joe Biden.
- Well, it turns out the news was false.
- A senior VP at Costco recently told officials on their earnings call, "I want to address some incorrect information floating around on social media and a few other media outlets claiming that we have increased the price of our $1.50 hot dog-and-soda combinations sold in our food courts. Let me just say the price, when we introduced the hot dog-soda combo in the mid-'80s, was $1.50. The price today is $1.50, and we have no plans to increase the price at this time."
- The hot dog combo includes an all-beef hot dog and a soda with a refill. You can't beat that deal for $1.50.
