- Summer is losing some of its heat - the current Sriracha Sauce shortage is expected to last through summer.
- The hot sauce maker first announced the shortage back in April, but announced Friday "Currently, due to weather conditions affecting the quality of chili peppers, we now face a more severe shortage of chili."
- Without those chilis, the company can't produce their Chili Garlic, Sambal Oelek, and Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce.
- Many places where chili peppers are grown commercially, like Mexico, have been facing droughts, affecting crop output.
