Professor Creates Class About Tyler Perry

Emory University is offering a class for 14 freshmen called "In the Language of Folk and Kin: The Legacy of Folklore, the Griot and Community in the Artistic Praxis of Tyler Perry." Assistant Professor of English, Tameka Cage Conley, said, "Ultimately, I thought it was vital to recognize that Perry was telling the stories about aspects of our communities that are usually ignored and people who are often ignored." This actually sounds SO cool and the best part is that Emory University is less than an hour from Tyler Perry Studios so you never know if he might stop by to say hi!!
