How to Make Softer Cookies

This weekend (Sunday) is National Cookie Day so let's talk about making a yummmmy soft cookie! Here's a hack that many people try- add cornstarch to your cookies, even just a teaspoon or less, because that helps to bring out the tenderness and keep your cookies nice and soft. Some people like to add shortening to their cookies instead of butter so the consistency is a bit more cake-like. Also, others like to add a piece of bread to the container or Ziploc bag you put the cookies in because it will absorb the moisture and keep your cookies fresh and soft. If you like your cookies crisper- then you can obviously bake them a tad longer than the recipe calls for. Don't put your cookies in the refrigerator as that will dry them out and make them crunchy instead of soft. Happy baking!
