Defining "woman" was a little complicated, with the site writing that the word "is a prime example of the many gender terms undergoing shifts. More than ever, we are all faced with questions about who gets to identify as a woman."Writers insisted that "the dictionary is not the last word on what defines a woman." Searches for the word "woman" spiked by 1,417% in March during the Ketanji Brown-Jackson Supreme Court confirmation hearings when she refused to provide a definition for the word.
