Mr. Clean Is Retiring After 68 Spotless Years

Gotta admit I got a little sad over this news...after sixty-eight spotless years on the job, the legendary Mr. Clean has officially announced he is "hanging up his whites" and retiring. The iconic mascot—whose full name is actually Veritably Clean—revealed the news in a staged press conference, telling fans he is ready to trade his sponges for new hobbies. Mr. Clean broke the news himself on social media. He said, “The rumors are true! I’m retiring and saying goodbye to the world of cleaning... I’ve earned a little time off.” The good news is that Procter & Gamble confirms the famous cleaning products are staying exactly where they are on store shelves. The company also says there are no plans to change the brand name or the product’s classic packaging. Some industry experts suspect that the retirement is just a creative marketing stunt and that a bigger announcement about Mr. clean is coming March 4th.
