Don't Miss The 1,500 pound Eli's Cheesecake At Taste Of Chicago On Saturday

I can't wait for this!

The annual "birthday celebration" tradition of Eli's Cheesecake at Taste of Chicago returns again this Saturday with their free 1,500 pound cheesecake tasting!

Owner Marc Schulman told DNA Info Chicago that the cake takes a week to prepare and offers about 4,000 slices! It takes more than 700 pounds of cream cheese and 200 pounds of sugar to make this thing.

This year's cake will alternate in layers between Eli's original cheesecake flavor and chocolate chip.

Get in line early for your free slice! It starts at 12:30pm on Saturday in Buckingham Plaza.

Here's a flashback photo of the cake at taste from 1987!
