Chicago Police are advising pedestrians to keep their phones safe while walking in downtown. Two thieves have stolen cellphones from at least 22 people since August.
One or both of them walk up behind a victim and grab the cell phone when they're not expceting it. They then run away or ride off in a bicycle. During four of the incidents, the thieves got away in a white Cadillac.
One thief was described as a 15- to 20-year-old boy or man who was black, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet and 130-150 pounds with dreadlocks, police said. The other thief was described as an 18- to 24-year-old man.Anyone with information about the thefts was asked to call police at 312-747-8380.
