Sears Closing Its Last Store in Chicago

posted by Mick Lee -

Sears is closing its last store in the City of Chicago.

Employees at the Six Corners store in Old Irving Park were told of the closure Thursday morning, the Chicago Tribune reports.

A liquidation sale is set to begin April 27 and the store will close mid-July.

The Six Corners store opened in 1938.

The final #Sears store, in its corporate founding hometown, does not look like it will be around much longer.
