"Fire" at Carbide & Carbon Building Just a Scene for Chicago Fire

On my way walking to the radio station today, I noticed a gray and black smoke coming from the windows of the Carbide & Carbon Building in Chicago (most recently known as the Hard Rock Hotel until 2017).

It looked very scary and many people stopped to take photos or video. Once I got to 93.9 LITE FM, I was able to get a better view of the building and noticed it was in fact... a scene being filmed for NBC's Chicago Fire.

Luckily not real! BUT you think the city would have alerted us...a radio station so we could let the public know that this was happening. I bet they got many 911 calls about a building fire!
