Federal food safety inspectors are warning of a potential cyclospora contamination affecting salads and wraps sold at Trader Joe’s, Walgreens and Kroger (it does not affect Kroger-owner Mariano's).
The products, which were distributed by Caito Foods of Indianapolis, all have “sell by” dates ranging from July 18 to July 23 and consumers should check their refrigerators.
The warning was issued out of an “abundance of caution,” urging consumers not to eat the products and instead throw away or returned to the store where purchased.
Trader Joe’s, posted the health warning on its website for three products: tarragon chicken salad wrap, Caesar salad with chicken, and Chinese inspired salad with chicken - which were sold in Illinois and 10 other Midwestern states.
