Dairy Queen Owner Donates Ice Cream Monthly to Advocate Children's Hospital

posted by Mick Lee -

Rob Wagner has been doing something amazing every month for kids battling cancer.

Known as the Ice Cream Man, he owns a Dairy Queen in Niles and donates 200 sundaes every second Friday of the month to patients at Advocate Children's Hospital's pediatric oncology unit in Park Ridge.

Wagner has been sending sundaes for eight years.

You can see his interview with ABC 7 below as well as some pictures with some of the patients he's visited.

Rob Wagner has been donating ice cream and cakes to families at Advocate Children’s Hospital for 8 years! His Dairy Queen in Niles provides sweet treats for patients every month, including specialized cakes for end-of-chemo celebrations and NICU graduations. Rob thought he was making just a quick delivery to our staff last week... but to his surprise we had lots of thankful, smiling faces to greet him. This was his first time meeting our patients. Thank you, Rob and Dairy Queen, for all you do! 🍦
