An increase in robbers posing as rideshare drivers has prompted Chicago police to issue a warning to customers.
Two men are going around the Near North Side picking people up and then robbing them with force or by gunpoint, police said.
The robberies have occurred in Lincoln Park, Old Town and River North and were reported in the early morning hours in the following locations on the following dates:
Aug. 18 in the first block of West Hubbard
Aug. 25 in the 1400 block of North Halsted
Aug. 29 in the 1500 block of North Wells
Aug. 30 in the 400 block of North State
Sept. 9 in the 1700 block of North Halsted
