Chicago Man Charged After Video Shows Dog Being Pulled by Car

A video showing a dog on a leash being pulled along a moving vehicle in Chicago last week has led to an animal cruelty charge according to NBC 5.

The incident happened Saturday in Labagh Woods Nature Preserve in Chicago's Northwest Side.

A woman saw it happening and knew something had to be done. In the video, you hear the woman yelling at the driver to stop.

Cook County Forest Preserve Police confirmed an arrest was made Monday evening and a Nelson Benitez, of Chicago, was charged with misdemeanor cruelty to an animal.

Police said the dog was OK, but did not release what happened to the animal following the arrest.
