Thomas Panek is officially the first blind man in history to complete the New York City Half Marathon! He competed in the race with three guide dogs who took turns running by his side, navigating him safely through the 13.1-mile race course.
Panek ran cross-country in high school, but had to stop when he lost his eyesight after suffering from retinitis pigmentosa. He started Guiding Eyes for the Blind, which pairs visually impaired people up with dogs so they can run again.
So cool! Congrats Thomas!
