Amazon plans to hold a series of job fairs nationwide next week as it aims to add 30,000 new employees to its workforce, the AP reports.
The job fairs will be held on September 17 in six locations: Arlington (Virginia), Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Nashville, and the company's hometown of Seattle.
Positions available at the job fairs will range from software developers to warehouse workers, and all jobs will be permanent or part-time positions that include benefits. Amazon says it plans to have about 1,000 recruiters on site at the events to help job hunters apply for positions and prepare for interviews.
The company adds that the hiring spree is not related to Christmas seasonal hiring. With more than 650,000 employees, the online retailer is already the second largest employer in the country behind Walmart.
