Well this is good news for many drivers in the city!
Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that Chicago is on pace to write 13.4% less parking tickets this year than it did in 2018.
In the first 6 months of this year, 988,404 parking tickets were written. Last year 2.28 million were written. The decline was a promise made by Mayor Lori Lightfoot in her campaign and its a welcome change to many people who park cars.
Booting also is declining, and is on track to be down 8% this year compared to last.
