On Thursday, an Australian couple returned to their Brisbane home and noticed some commotion on their balcony. "There's a couple of butcher birds that visit every day and they were just kicking off on the balcony, going crazy," Leanne Chapman told a CNN affiliate.
Her partner began filming the birds and leaned on their Christmas tree, which was located outdoors. It wasn't long before he realized a 10-foot python was wrapped around the tree. "It was big--really big," said Chapman, who retreated indoors with her partner and kept an eye on the snake before it slithered away after a few hours.
"After the initial shock wore off, it was a really beautiful snake," she added.
