A baby boy who was stolen from a Chicago hospital one day after his birth in 1964 has reportedly been found living in Michigan. A woman dressed as a nurse at Michael Reese Hospital never returned after taking baby Paul Fronczak from his mother, claiming she needed to bring the infant to a doctor. More than a year later, a baby found abandoned in New Jersey was handed over to the Fronczaks because his ear shape resembled Paul's. But in 2014, DNA testing confirmed that child was not Chester and Dora Fronczak's biological son.
This week, WGN News reported that it has tracked down the real Paul Fronczak in rural Michigan. "At his request, we are not identifying him because he was a crime victim. The man was aware of the evidence that concluded he was the baby abducted from a Chicago hospital more than a half-century ago," the outlet says. "He apparently learned about it several months ago and was still coming to grips with the ramifications." The man, who is battling cancer, also told WGN that he's been in contact with the FBI about the case and says, “I have loose ends to tie up."
