Police in Joliet are trying to identify the man who attempted to "prank" Walmart shoppers last weekend, and caused $10,000 in damages.
According to police, the man entered the Joliet Walmart location wearing a yellow surgical mask on his face and a handmade sign on his back that said "CAUTION: I HAVE THE CORONAVIRUS." He walked around the store telling other shoppers he was sick with the deadly virus, while he sprayed Lysol on clothing, produce, and other products throughout the store. Dozens of items had to be thrown out.
Walmart plans to press charges.
The coronavirus is responsible for more than 560 deaths. More than 28,000 people worldwide have contracted the dangerous illness.
