Almost a year to the day when it was severely damaged by a devastating fire, Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral hosted a modified version of Good Friday Mass.
The service was attended by only seven people and a television crew, and held in the apse of the cathedral, which is still in the midst of being reconstructed.
NPR reports that the Crown of Thorns relic, believed to be the one placed on Jesus's head before his crucifixion, will be at the altar for the mass. It will return to Notre Dame for the first time since the fire after being temporarily stored at the Louvre museum.
