If you're someone who wears contacts, right now might be a good time to switch back to glasses, according to Lifehacker.
“We are telling people to take it easy on wearing contact lens right now,” says Thomas Steinemann, a spokesman for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Improper use of contacts can cause medical issues that need attention. Glasses are less risky. In addition, handling contact lenses could transmit the disease because of contact with eye secretions. If you do choose to wear contacts, ensure you wash your hands, disinfect the lenses regularly and follow other guidelines.
“Protect your eyes, protect your health, and protect the health of those around you,” Steinemann says.
