CDC Warns of "Aggressive" Rats Amid COVID-19 Shutdown

With most restaurants generating less food and waste, the CDC is warning that rats are becoming aggressive on their search for new food sources.

Luckily, the rats don't seem to be getting aggressive toward humans, but towards each other. We are seeing rats exert "unusual" behavior including eating each other's young in some populations and fighting each other for food.

They are coming out more often in the daytime and some have even moved into car engines. To avoid damage to your vehicle, start it up and drive around town once a week.

To keep rats at bay from your home, the CDC recommends removing debris, keep garbage tightly covered and remove pet or bird food from yards.
