Cops Looking for Women Who Coughed in Baby's Face

Cops in California are on the hunt for a woman in her sixties who apparently deliberately coughed in a Hispanic baby's face after getting in an argument with the 1-year-old's mother.

The incident allegedly went down on June 12 at a Yogurtland in San Jose after the suspect, who was wearing a mask, reportedly got mad at the mom for not maintaining proper social distancing. “The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect was upset the female was not maintaining proper social distancing, so the suspect removed her face mask, got close to the baby’s face, and coughed two to three times,” says San Jose PD Sergeant Enrique Garcia in a statement.

The boy's mom, Mireya Mora, told a local news outlet, "I believe this woman may be racist because the family in front of her is white. Me and my grandma are Hispanic and she started telling me about my distance and harassing me and my son once I started speaking Spanish to my grandma."

Mora also said her son experienced a slight fever after the incident, but that he is doing okay and hopefully doesn't have coronavirus. She says, “If he were to get sick, it’s just, I can’t even imagine."
