Airport Travelers Left a Million Dollars at Security-Checkpoints Last Year

American banks and retailers may be in the midst of a coin shortage right now, but its airports sure aren't.

Air travelers left $926,030 in security-checkpoint bins between October 1, 2018 and September 30, 2019. The most loose change was left behind at New York's JFK airport, where jet-setters accidentally parted with $98,110.

Surprisingly, travelers at the country's busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, only lost $13,315.
