Researchers in China have found that nearly one-quarter of COVID-19 patients experience hair loss within six months of getting infected, based on hospital patient studies in China between January and May of 2020.
While 63% of those patients experienced fatigue within six months of infection, 22% reported hair loss.
Researchers found that women infected with COVID-10 are more likely to experience hair loss than infected men.
The good news from all of this? The hair loss is only temporary, according to the American Academy of Dermatology Association. Experts say something as stressful on the body as COVID can cause some serious hair shedding, but it will likely stop over time.
