Randhurst Mall in Mount Prospect was opened in 1962 and was the first enclosed regional mall in the Chicago area!
Randhurst originally had three major department store anchors: Wieboldt's, Carson Pirie Scott, and The Fair.
In the 90s and early 2000's, stores began disappearing from the mall including JCPenney and Montgomery Ward in 2001.
Randhurst's final shopping day was Tuesday, September 30, 2008. By then, only two stores remained open inside the mall: Fashion Plus, and Your Choice Gifts.
