The Rolling Stones brought their “No Filter” tour to Liverpool, England over the weekend, and took time out of their set to pay tribute to the city’s most famous rock band.
The Stones covered The Beatles’ 1963 hit “I Wanna Be Your Man,” although it wasn’t their first choice for a cover.
Mick Jagger explained that they initially planned to cover Gerry and The Pacemakers’ “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” which is played before every Liverpool soccer match. But, Mick noted, they “decided instead to do a cover song written by other local lads.”
