The basic income program was made to help those who were hit hardest by the economic catastrophe caused by the COVID-19 pandemic by providing a monthly payment of $500.
The first Chicagoans selected to be part of the city’s program have gotten their first $500.
Applications are now closed but if you already submitted an application continue to check the status of your enrollment. As they are looking to approve 1,500 more families for this program in the near future.
