Last summer, Lana Batochir was riding on a raft with her husband in Chicago’s “Playpen,” a no-wake hotspot on Lake Michigan. She was thrown overboard when their raft collided with a yacht. Lana got caught in the yacht’s motor and had to get both of her legs amputated. With the help of prosthetics and months of work with Dr. Vickram Choudhary, she is now able to drive and walk independently. “When I first got my prosthetics, it was hard to imagine myself walking like I did today,” she shared.
