Chicago is taking nominations for the official Christmas tree that’ll anchor Millennium Park’s festivities.
What they want:
- At least 45 feet tall
- Growing within 50 miles of the Loop (bonus points inside 15 miles)
- Norway spruce or other fir preferred - no pines
Fun fact: last year’s pick was a 53-foot Colorado blue spruce from a Logan Square family.
How to throw your tree’s hat in the ring:
Email dcase@cityofchicago.org with:
- Owner’s name, address, phone, email
- A quick note on why your tree is special
- Two photos (one close-up, one wide)
Deadlines & dates:
- Submissions close: Oct. 14
- Tree lighting: Nov. 21 in Millennium Park
- On display through: Jan. 11, 2026
