New research is showing that certain kinds of honey may improve blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
In a new study, researchers from the University of Toronto found that raw honey and honey from a single flower had a positive effect on cardiometabolic health.
The results are surprising, because honey is about 80 percent sugar, but it is also a complex composition of common and rare sugars, proteins, organic acids, and other bioactive compounds that very likely have health benefits.
A tablespoon or two of raw honey a day seems to be sufficient for the benefits.
