Apparently, this is why people pay big bucks for Apple products: A pregnant California woman is crediting her Apple Watch with saving her and her newborn baby's lives.
Jesse Kelly says she was still weeks away from her due date when her Apple Watch's alert system warned her that something was wrong. "I thought it was really odd that it was telling me my heart rate was going over 120 beats per minute," she says. Eventually, she went to a nearby hospital, where doctors determined she was in labor -- and her blood pressure was rapidly dropping due to a complication called placenta abruption, Kelly says.
Fortunately, Kelly had made it to the hospital in time for doctors to save her and her baby. Three hours later, she'd become the proud parent of a healthy baby girl -- and she has her Apple Watch to thank.
